Houston, TX (October 2022) – Forward Science, a Houston-based and locally operated MedTech company, announced they have sold their medical waste division, BioRED, to a private waste company in order to focus on oral healthcare and product development.

Forward Science was founded in 2012 by two biomedical engineers, Brian Pikkula and Robert J. Whitman, with the goal to change lives. For a decade, Forward Science has created proven, cost-effective technologies that provide optimal oral healthcare products for everyday use by patients and clinicians. To allow for further concentration on expanding its oral healthcare product line, Forward Science divested its medical waste division, BioRED.

“As we begin our second decade of business, we want to focus on making a greater impact in the oral healthcare space through our innovative technologies,” explained Forward Science’s Chief Executive Officer, Robert J. Whitman. “The success of our first ten years presented us with some great partnerships with the largest healthcare companies in the world, and we are excited about what the future holds at Forward Science for oral healthcare worldwide,” he continued.

Forward Science will continue to develop, manufacture, commercialize and support its oral healthcare products in its FDA-registered medical device and drug manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas.
